The family of the victims in the Karachi hit-and-run case has formally forgiven Natasha Danish, the suspect, according to an affidavit submitted on Friday.
Natasha Danish, the wife of a prominent businessman, was initially accused of driving the vehicle involved in the deadly hit-and-run.
The hit and run accident, which occurred last month in karachi, claimed the lives of a father and daughter and left several others injured. The case drew widespread media attention due to allegations that authorities were delaying the investigation, reportedly because of Natasha Danish influential connections.
In a recent court development, the victims’ family submitted an affidavit, officially pardoning Natasha Danish. Signed by the widow of one of the victims, the document stated that the family had reached an understanding with the accused and had chosen to forgive her in the name of God.
The affidavit emphasized that the decision was made voluntarily, without external pressure. While the affidavit did not specifically mention any financial compensation, it is common in such cases in Pakistan for settlements to involve the payment of diyat or blood money.
The court will now take this new information into account as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
