The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) confirmed his passing in a heartfelt Instagram statement, calling him a “legendary designer.” Bal, who graduated from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, started in his family’s textile business before launching his own label in 1990. His designs, rooted in India’s cultural heritage, were celebrated for their exquisite craftsmanship and innovative style.
