NAB Recovers 204 Kanals from Bahria Town Lahore

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has successfully reclaimed over 204 kanals of land that were allegedly transferred illegally by Malik Riaz to Bahria Town Lahore without legal justification. The land, valued at billions of rupees, originally belonged to the Official Employees Cooperative Housing Society Ltd (OECHS) and is located in Mauza Manak and Mauza Bhai Kot, Tehsil Raiwind, Lahore.

According to NAB’s investigation, the land transfer was carried out fraudulently through the collusion of officials from OECHS, the revenue department, and Bahria Town Lahore. After a comprehensive inquiry, NAB restored the entire 204-kanal land to the OECHS housing society.

Malik Riaz, a well-known real estate tycoon and the owner of Bahria Town, is currently residing in the United Arab Emirates. He has been declared an alleged absconder in the controversial Al-Qadir Trust case, in which former Prime Minister Imran Khan was convicted. NAB has announced its intention to initiate extradition proceedings through Interpol in connection with the £190 million repatriation case investigated by the UK’s National Crime Agency.

In addition to the land recovery, NAB has frozen several assets linked to Bahria Town and Malik Riaz, citing illegal occupation of both public and private lands. Furthermore, NAB has warned the public against investing in any ongoing or upcoming Bahria Town projects, including planned developments in Dubai, due to concerns about legal irregularities.
