Petrol remains a primary fuel for private transportation, including cars, motorcycles, rickshaws, and small vehicles. The price hike is expected to strain the budgets of middle and lower-income households, who rely heavily on petrol for daily commuting. High-speed diesel, critical for heavy-duty vehicles like trucks, buses, and agricultural machinery, directly impacts transportation costs and the prices of essential commodities, including food and vegetables.
The rising diesel and petrol prices often lead to inflation, further burdening consumers across Pakistan.
